DutchSWEET BITES WITH A TWIST (small sweet orange peppers stuffed with spicy minced meat)

An original dish from the Happy Chief Cook. Sweet Bites with a Twist (small sweet orange peppers stuffed with spicy minced meat).

An original dish from the Happy Chief Cook.
You have about 10 to 15 minutes necessary to prepare the peppers for the oven.
You can prepare the Sweet Bites with a Twist, several hours in advance before you bake them in the oven.
This dish is ideal for a party as a snack.

The sweetness of the peppers, extinguishes the spiciness of the meat a bit.

Be careful with the use of sesame oil, that can quickly dominate the taste.

The soy sauce which I use is very thick, sweet and full of flavor and perfect for marinades.

Preparation time: 45 to 50 minutes.
Serves: 6.

6 sweet bites (small orange sweet peppers),
100 grams of lean minced beef,
1 tablespoon beaten egg,
1 to 2 teaspoons sambal badjak,
1 teaspoon ginger syrup,
1 shallot finely chopped,
1 clove garlic finely chopped,
2 teaspoons soy sauce,
4-season pepper,
2 drops sesame oil.
about 2 teaspoons of breadcrumbs.

Preheat convection oven to 180 degrees C / gas oven to position 6.

Carefully cut the caps of the sweet bites.
Remove the seeds.
Mix all remaining ingredients together.
Use enough bread crumbs so that the beef mixture is firm.

Fill the sweet bites with this mixture.

Bake the sweet bites in the middle of the oven for 35 minutes.

If you love spicy food, than you can replace the sambal badjak by a dried red pepper with the seeds, which very finely chopped is.
