I prepared this dish with 3 teaspoons of sambal oelek.
It is slightly sweet and spicy in taste.
Serves: 2 à 4.
Preparation time : 16 minutes.
350 to 400 grams of chicken fillet,
2 tablespoons peanut oil,
1 large onion (chopped),
0.5 teaspoon garlic powder,
0.5 teaspoon djahé (ground ginger),
2 to 3 teaspoons of sambal oelek or sambal oelek trassie,
4 tablespoons soy sauce.
1 tablespoon finely chopped celery,
1 to 2 tomatoes (sliced).
Cut the chicken into thin strips.
Heat the peanut oil in a wok and add the chicken strips to it.
Let everything 3 minutes bake, stirring continuously and tossing.
Slide the chicken to the side of the wadjan / wok and fry the chopped onion in the oil until they start to colour.
Mix the garlic powder, djahé (ground ginger) and the sambal with the soy sauce.
Add this to the fried onions.
Bring the sauce to the boil.
Spoon the chicken strips into the sauce, and bring it to the boil for a few seconds.
Put everything into a warmed serving dish.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon finely chopped celery over it, and garnish with a tomato which is cut into slices.
* Ayam Goreng Pedas can be very well served as an accompaniment to a rice table be given.
The ayam goreng pedas can also be combined with a vegetable dish (such as Gado Gado or Orak Arik) and along with dry cooked rice be served.
